God doesn’t want us to just feel gratitude, but for us to show it by giving thanks to God with our lives.” R.C. Sproul

This week we as a nation celebrate Thanksgiving. Although we should always be thankful, this week being grateful for all that God has done for us is highlighted. Are you thankful? Have you ever had trouble thinking of things to be thankful for? Most of us don’t, but in case you do, here is a short list that is a good starting point. In no particular order, Thank God for:
  1. Saving you
  2. Sustaining you
  3. Spouse
  4. Family
  5. Kids
  6. Church
  7. Grandchildren
  8. Friends
  9. Job

This list is no way exhaustive, but it's a start. Allow God time this week to bring to your mind more things that you are thankful for. Having a grateful heart should lead us to worship God for all that He’s done for us.

“Without gratitude for Christ’s sacrificial love, our duty will become nothing more than drudgery and our God nothing more than a dissatisfied boss.” - Bryan Chapell

Here are a view Bible passages to help us in our worship of Thankfulness:
  • Psalm 100:4-5  Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. [5] For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.
  • Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 pray without ceasing; [18] in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

“To trust God in the light is nothing but trust him in the dark—that is faith.” Charles Spurgeon

I pray you have a wonderful week with your family. Please remember those that may be spending their first Thanksgiving without a loved one. Take time this week to be Thankful!

You are loved and prayed for,

Bro Phillip
